Our Hero Is Home. :) September 14, 2012 10:25
So as many of you know, my husband was deployed to Afghanistan for what seemed like forever. He recently returned this past Sunday and we are all just so ecstatic to have him back!
Besides getting the house in order for his arrival, I wanted to decorate our car too! It would be the first thing to greet him and would also let everyone know that our hero is on his way home. I was hesitant at first. I didn't want to take down my business and family decal, but it was all worth it. :)
I'm going to revamp my dot com decal soon. :)
This was how dirty my car was. :p
So fresh and so clean! Blank canvas!!
Just the words ....
I loved how it turned out! I was so nervous because I've never applied anything that big personally. Usually my husband is the one with the steady hands and applies everything for me. We received so many compliments on this decal that I've decided to add it to our store. The O in "our" can be changed to any branch logo or left alone.
My girls and I also decorated our garage:
So with everything decorated it was time to finally pick up daddy! My girls were getting so anxious and they wanted to show daddy their poster that they made for him. I wanted to show him mine too. Hahaha. I try to think of the most outrageous signs because I love making my husband laugh.
Last year's homecoming poster.
This year's homecoming poster!
Hahaha! I promise, I'm NOT really that creepy. I'm happy that hubby (and some of his buddies) got a really good laugh at this. Oh! And it turns out, vinyl decals work really well on glossy poster paper! The words you see are actually vinyl cut outs!
Well, that's it for now. I'll try to update again before the end of the month. Several new announcements will be made next week so keep your eyes peeled!
Before I wrap this up, I just want to thank all of our WRV fans for being so awesome and patient with me while my husband was deployed. I was at first overwhelmed, but you guys all made the transition of running all this by myself a very pleasant one. I'm hoping to get some more extra hands to help out soon. :)
Happy Friday, Lovelies! I hope you and your loved ones have a safe and wonderful weekend!
